WESTMINSTER, Md. – Dickinson used a 13-4 run in the second half to overcome an eight-point deficit and top McDaniel 52-42 in Centennial Conference (CC) men's basketball action on Thursday.

Austin Cannon (Hampstead, Md./Manchester Valley) was one of three players in double figures for the Green Terror (2-3, 0-2 CC), registering a season-best 13 points. Kevin Yrizarry (Owings Mills, Md./Owings Mill) led the way with 14 points, including six of the hosts' first eight points.

Michael Jurzynski led the Red Devils (4-1, 2-0 CC) with 16 points off the bench – part of a 28-0 advantage held by the teams' reserves.

Trailing 30-22 after a Yrizarry jumper with 14:10 to play, Jurzynski hit a triple and the second of two free throws to trim the deficit to four with 11:35 showing.

After DJ Harper (Upper Marlboro, Md./Riverdale Baptist) pushed the lead back to six with a layup, Justus Melton converted a second-chance basket and Jurzynski and Bryce Allen each hit layups to even the score for the first time.

McWilliams hit a jumper with his foot on the line to once again put McDaniel in front but Allen countered with a 3-pointer to give Dickinson its first lead with 6:54 remaining.

After two Melton free throws, Cannon drained a 3-pointer to once again tie the game but a Jurzynski layup and Elijah Wright fastbreak basket put the visitors in front by four.

The lead swelled to 10 on two Melton free throws in the final minute.

The Green Terror jumped out to an 8-0 lead before Jurzynski scored the Red Devils' first points with 13:59 remaining in the first half.

McDaniel slowly built the lead to 16-5 on a Harper layup with 6:17 on the clock.

Back-to-back Cannon layups stretched the advantage to 20-8 with 2:23 to play before Dickinson scored the final six points of the half to make it a six-point game at the break.

Harper finished with 10 points while Yrizarry led the way on the glass with six rebounds.

The Green Terror returns to action at Ursinus on Saturday. Game time is 3 p.m.
