Conference winter academic honors announced

LANCASTER, Pa. – The Centennial Conference (CC) recently announced its academic honors for the winter sports season and 35 Green Terror athletes were named to the CC Winter Academic Honor Roll.

Wrestling junior Michael Bromley (Mt. Airy, Md./Linganore), men's indoor track and field sophomore Chett Brunner (Sykesville, Md./Century), sophomore Tyren Proctor (Westminster, Md./North Point), sophomore Alex Huffer (Williamsport, Md./Williamsport), junior Nick Razze (Pitman, N.J./Pitman), and senior Zach Stango (Burtonsville, Md./Paint Branch) as well as women's indoor track and field senior Sarah Case (Frederick, Md./Oakdale) and junior Gabby Collins (Indian Head, Md./North Point) were all named to the Academic All-Centennial team. Proctor and Collins were first-team all-conference honorees while Brunner, Proctor, Huffer, Razze, Stango, and Case were second team honorees. Bromley was honorable mention. The Academic All-Centennial team recognizes student-athletes who receive both all-conference and Academic Honor Roll honors.

The nine student-athletes were part of the 35 named to the Academic Honor Roll. To be nominated for the honor roll, a student-athlete must be of sophomore standing or higher and have a cumulative grade-point average of at least 3.40. The honored Green Terror student-athletes are:

Men's Basketball

Senior Josh Arruda (Morrisville, Pa./Pennsbury), sophomore Eddie O'Brien (Sandy Spring, Md./Sherwood), sophomore Joey Reiling (Mullica Hill, N.J./Clearview Regional), senior Josh Sproul (Princess Anne, Md./Washington Academy), sophomore Carter Truby (Sykesville, Md./Century).

Women's Basketball

Senior Ellie Connelly (Sharpsburg, Md./Boonsboro), sophomore Ellie Glass (Spring Grove, Pa./Spring Grove Area), junior Josey Klingenberg (Hampstead, Md./Manchester Valley), sophomore Katie Klein (Port Charlotte, Fla./Imagine School at North Point), senior Julia Ryan (Clifton Park, N.Y./Shenendehowa), senior Maddie Thompson (Poolesville, Md./Poolesville).

In all, 644 student-athletes from the CC's 11 member institutions were named to the 2022 Winter Academic Honor Roll.
