WESTMINSTER, Md. – Swarthmore jumped out to a 20-0 lead in game one en route to a sweep of McDaniel in Centennial Conference (CC) baseball action on Saturday.

The Garnet (28-9, 15-3 CC) won the opener 26-13 before taking the nightcap 7-2 to capture the top seed in the CC tournament for the first time in program history.

Antonio Rosanova (Laurel, Md./DeMatha) led the Green Terror (11-19, 4-14 CC) with four hits in the doubleheader. Kasey Nelson (St. Pete Beach, Fla./St. Michael's [Md.]) matched his classmate with four hits in his final collegiate games.

Cole Beeker led Swarthmore with a 6-for-6 performance and drew five walks.

After a single and double play got McDaniel two outs in the top of the first, Beeker hit a home run – the first of seven combined roundtrippers in the doubleheader.

A Jared Gillen double in the second inning keyed a two-run frame to stretch the lead to 3-0.

A Gillen triple in the third inning helped push the lead to 7-0.

It was a Conor Elliott three-run home that ignited an eight-run fourth for a 15-0 lead before taking on four more in the sixth to lead 20-0.

Rosanova led off the bottom of the sixth with a single before a Nelson two-run blast got the Green Terror on the board.

The lead swelled to 26-2 after a six-run top of the ninth that included a Coleson Hebble grand slam.

With one out in the bottom of the inning, Ryan Downes (Hagerstown, Md./St. Maria Gorretti) singled to start a parade of nine straight McDaniel players to reach.

Nelson had a two-run double after three straight walks before T.J. McGuire's (Blue Point, N.Y./Bayport-Blue Point) two-run single made it 26-9.

A Sam Brustad (Silver Spring, Md./St. John's College) two-run home run made it 26-11.

After a two-out Julian Jenkins (Tempe, Ariz./Desert Vista) single, Douglas Mills (Timonium, Md./York Catholic [Pa.]) had an inside-the-park home run to set the final margin.

Nelson had three hits in game one while Jenkins and Mills had two each.

In the nightcap, Levitt and Beeker drew one-out walks before a three-run Jackson Roberts home run staked the visitors to a 3-0 lead.

Hebble singled, stole third and scored on a groundout for a 4-0 lead in the second.

A Rosanova two-out home run in the fifth closed the margin to 4-1.

Swarthmore tacked on one more in the sixth before errors in the bottom of the seventh and top of the eighth led to three unearned runs for the final margin.

Rosanova had three knocks in game two.
