Green Terror sweeps Randolph-Macon to improve to 2-0 in spring

ASHVILLE, Va. – Brian Kron (Upperco, Md./North Carroll) did not drop a game in singles to lead McDaniel to a 9-0 victory over Randolph-Macon in non-conference men's tennis action on Sunday.

The Green Terror (3-1) notched its third straight victory, sweeping singles play in each of those matches.

Kevin Lloyd and David Lynch paced the Yellow Jackets (1-6) with individual set victories.

In addition to his 6-0, 6-0 win at fourth singles, Kron also teamed with Matthew Langsdale (Hampstead, Md./North Carroll) to capture an 8-3 win at third doubles.

Langsdale won 6-2, 2-6, 6-3 over Lynch at sixth singles.

Ben Faber (Wayne, Pa./Conestoga) and Chad Palman (Montgomery Village, Md./Gaithersburg) paired for an 8-5 win at first doubles while Justin Ward (Sykesville, Md./Century) and Steve French (New Windsor, Md./Francis Scott Key) teamed for an 8-6 victory at No. 2 doubles to stake McDaniel to a 3-0 lead.

Faber, French and Palman all won in straight sets.

Faber was a 6-3, 6-2 winner at first singles while French won 6-3, 6-3 and Palman won 6-2, 6-2 at third and fifth singles, respectively.

Ward downed Lloyd 6-2, 3-6, 6-2 at No. 2 singles to wrap up the second sweep of the season.

The Green Terror returns to action at Shenandoah on Monday. Match time is 3:30 p.m.
