Being an athlete at McDaniel is an opportunity to excel in a highly competitive environment while attaining a nationally recognized personal education. McDaniel has a long tradition outstanding student-athletes. Over the years, the Green Terror has produced NCAA Division III national champions, conference champions - more than a dozen since 2004 alone, All-Americans (nearly 20 since 2004), Academic All-Americans, and conference players of the year (more than a dozen since 2004). As a member of the Centennial Conference, we participate in one the most prestigious and successful athletic conferences in the country. The Centennial Conference, like McDaniel, continues to value excellence in athletics, encourage academic achievement and personal self-discovery. You will not find a more competitive environment anywhere, at any level.

The men & women's track & field and cross country teams are striving for consistent excellence in the classroom and in their athletic endeavors. Three of the four teams (M&W XC, WT&F) earned national academic honors for their performance in the classroom during the last school year. Here's a look at some #'s that reflect the success of the program since the beginning of the Centennial Conference (1994): 1 NCAA Woman of the Year (MD), 1 NCAA postgraduate scholarship winner, 2 national champions, 21 All-Americans (top 8 T&F, top 35 XC), 91 NCAA III National Qualifiers, 1 USATF Junior national qualifier, 124 Individual Event Conference Champions, 16 Conference "Most Valuable Performers", and 2 conference team championships. Our student-athletes are consistently earning jobs in their chosen fields or gaining admission to the graduate, law or medical schools of their choice. Our student-athletes create enduring memories from their athletic experiences, begin friendships that last a lifetime and learn competitive lessons that will serve them well in their chosen profession.
