LANCASTER, Pa. – Four days after setting the single-season strikeout record, freshman Caroline Brehm (Hanover, Pa./New Oxford) threw her first collegiate no-hitter to key a doubleheader sweep of Franklin & Marshall in Centennial Conference (CC) softball action on Saturday.

The Green Terror (12-6, 4-0 CC) took the opener 13-0 in five innings before completing the sweep with a 5-3 victory in the nightcap. Brehm threw both games, striking out 23 and allowing just three hits and six walks.

Jackie Liebowitz (Bellerose, N.Y./Benjamin N. Cordozo) went 5-for-6 with two doubles, three RBIs and two runs scored in the two games.

Alicia Kukoda led the Diplomats (8-11, 1-4 CC) with one hit and two RBIs.

The McDaniel bats went to work early, staking Brehm to a 5-0 lead before she took the circle en route 14 hits over the five-inning game.

Megan Moore (Bridgeton, N.J./Cumberland Regional) started the big first inning with a one-out walkLie before scoring on a Jordan Beans (Hanover, Pa./Hanover) triple.

One batter later, Erinne Warrenfeltz (Smithsburg, Md./Middletown) singled home Beans for a 2-0 advantage.

With two outs, Sam Stitely (Westminster, Md./North Carroll) singled in Warrenfeltz before scoring on a Liebowitz double.

Lauren Fusco (Laurel, Md./St. Vincent Pallotti) followed with an RBI single to cap the five-run frame.

In the third, Stitely drew a one-out walk to start a four-inning rally. Liebowitz and Fusco followed with singles to load the bases for Beth Ann Fusco (Laurel, Md./St. Vincent Pallotti), who recorded a sacrifice fly to plate Stitely.

A Rachel Sidney (East Meadow, N.Y./East Meadow) singled in Liebowitz before a Moore singled stretched the lead to 9-0.

A Liebowitz leadoff double in the fifth sparked another four-run inning.

A fielder's choice and Fusco sacrifice fly scored pinch-runner Laura Mertz (Gillette, N.J./Watchung Hills) before Sidney doubled to put runners at second and third.

A Moore sacrifice fly before a two-out error and singles from Warrenfeltz and Tracy Davis (Christiansburg, Va./Christiansburg) set the final margin.

In game two, Sidney walked to lead off the game before taking second and third on wild pitches and scoring on a Beans one-out double.

A walk to Danielle Murphy, wild pitch and Samantha Ginder single up the middle knotted the game in the bottom of the inning.

Warrenfeltz doubled with two outs in the third before scoring on a Liebowitz single through the left side for a 2-1 lead.

Warrenfeltz led off the sixth double before scoring on a Liebowitz single. Stephanie Maring (Woodbine, Md./South Carroll) followed with a two-run home run to give the visitors a 5-1 lead.

With one out in the seventh, Amanda Schellaci singled before Megan Pauley drew a walk.

A two-out error loaded the bases for Kukoda, who singled in two runs to draw the hosts within 5-3.

Brehm notched her 13th strikeout of the game and 23 for the doubleheader.

The Green Terror, who is 4-0 in CC play for the first time since 2005, returns to action at home against Haverford on Sunday. The first game begins at 1 p.m.
