Nagle records fall in victory

GREENSBORO, N.C. – McDaniel recorded a pair of pins in the first five bouts to open up a 16-9 lead en route to a 34-12 victory over Greensboro in non-conference wrestling action on Saturday.

Cole Nagle (Highland Lakes, N.J./Vernon Twp.) led the Green Terror (4-2) with one of those falls, notching a 4-minute, 13-second pin at 157.

Zachary Rainess led the Pride (0-7) with a 5-minute, 39-second pin at 141.

Jacob Reid (West Chester, Pa./West Chester Henderson) opened the match with a pin midway through the second period to stake McDaniel to a 6-0 lead after the 125-pound bout.

Ryker Eckenbarger (Finksburg, Md./Westminster) stretched the lead to 10-0 with a 9-1 win at 133 before Rainess trimmed the margin to 10-6.

Ryan Dominique edged out a 12-11 win at 149 to close the margin to one before the Nagle pin started a stretch of five wins in the final six bouts.

After a Wade Bishop (Greensboro, Md./North Caroline) forfeit win at 165, Ronnie Wuest (Smyrna, Del./Smyrna) stretched the advantage to 25-9 with a 9-4 victory at 174.

Tyron Dudley and Jake Pooton (Mt. Airy, Md./South Carroll) traded one-point wins with Dudley winning 6-5 at 184 and Pooton taking a 3-2 victory at 197 before Brendan Woody (Crofton, Md./South River) closed out the match with a forfeit win at heavyweight.

The Green Terror returns to action at the Jim Aguir Invitational at Plymouth State on Saturday, Jan. 13. Action begins at 10 a.m.
