McDaniel to host first weekend of ECAC tournament

DANBURY, Conn. – McDaniel learned on Monday afternoon that its season will continue with a selection to the Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III women's soccer tournament.

The Green Terror (13-6) received the No. 1 overall seed and will host an opening weekend pod. McDaniel will host Penn State-Behrend (10-7-2) in the first of two first-round games on Saturday at 11 a.m. Shenandoah (11-8) will take on Pfeiffer (12-4) in the day's second matchup at 2 p.m.

The winners will meet in the quarterfinals on Sunday at 12 p.m. at McDaniel. Sunday's winner advances to the semifinals and final at the highest remaining seed on Nov. 23-24.

Junior Maddie Schwartz (Lancaster, Pa./Hempfield) leads the team with 10 goals and 23 points this season. Sophomore Hannah Schepers (Port Deposit, Md./St. Mark's) has nine goals and 21 points. Junior Kristen Worry (Lancaster, Pa./Lancaster-Strasburg) leads the team with nine assists.

Sophomore Katherine Carstensen (Pearl River, N.Y./Pearl River) has a 0.90 goals-against average and .742 save percentage.
