Embry earns all-region nod

LEXINGTON, Ky. – Marlowe Embry (San Jose, Calif./J.H. Pitman), a junior on the McDaniel volleyball team, has been named All-Mid-Atlantic Region by the American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA), released on Thursday.

Embry, an outside hitter, is making her second all-region appearance after earning honorable mention honors last season.

She earned her second straight All-Centennial Conference (CC) honor and third straight all-conference appearance after being tabbed to the second team as a rookie. Embry led the attack all season with 271 kills and currently ranks second on the team with 285 digs. She is also leads the team with 35 aces and recorded nine double-doubles in 26 matches this season.

The Green Terror (14-12, 7-3 CC) advanced to the semifinals of the CC tournament and returns to action against Ramapo in the quarterfinals of the ECAC tournament on Saturday at Marywood. Match time is 5 p.m.
