THE SKINNY STORY
• Haverford put together a later burst in the deciding set to edge McDaniel 3-2 in the Centennial Conference (CC) opener for both teams.
THE LEADERS
• Anna Jezerski (Ellicott City, Md./Howard) led the Green Terror with 14 kills and nine digs.
• Maddy Bigley (Pueblo, Colo./Pueblo Centennial) added a career-best 12 kills.
FOR THE FOES
• Dina Kosyagin led the Fords with 19 kills.
• Sara Hunsberger chipped in 48 assists for the offense.
THE REST OF THE STORY
• After Haverford took a 25-18 first-set win, the next two sets featured a combined 24 ties and 10 lead changes. McDaniel edged out a 25-23 win in the second set to tie the match at 1-all before the Fords pulled away late in the third set for a 25-16 win.
• Haverford jumped out to an early 11-5 lead in the fourth set but the Green Terror rallied late with a 7-0 run to take a 20-17 lead. Maddy Bigley and Anna Jezerski closed out the 25-23 win with back-to-back kills.
• Tied at 7-all in the fifth set, the Fords recorded five straight points en route to a 15-9 victory.
THE INSIDE STORY
• Brenna Campbell (Clarion, Pa/Clarion Area) added 38.
• Regan Gefroh (Fort Collins, Colo./Fort Collins) paced the defense with 11 digs.
