THE LEADERS

Anna Jezerski (Ellicott City, Md./Howard) led the attack with eight kills while also adding digs.

THE REST OF THE STORY
• Two Jenna Feinauer kills and an Amanda Chew ace helped Salisbury open up an 8-3 lead in the first set. Back-to-back kills from Maddy Bigley (Pueblo, Colo./Pueblo Centennial) closed the deficit to 8-5. A Nia Roberts knockdown made it a 12-10 score but Chew responded with a kill of her own and Ella Franks tallied two of her four aces to help stretch the advantage to 19-11 en route to a 25-15 win.
• The second set featured nine ties and three lead changes in the early part of the set before Franks served five straight points to turn a 10-all deadlock into a 15-10 lead, providing the difference in a 25-20 Salisbury win.
• In the third set, Chew served six straight points to key a 12-2 run that opened up a 15-5 lead for the hosts. Back-to-back Allyson Burgee (Fairfax, Va./Robinson Secondary School) aces made it an 18-11 score but that's as close as McDaniel could get in the 25-14 final.
