THE SKINNY STORY
McDaniel won a close second set to key a 3-0 win over Hood.

THE LEADERS
Regan Gefroh (Fort Collins, Colo./Fort Collins) led the Green Terror defense with 14 digs to go with a pair of aces.
• Anna Jezerski (Ellicott City, Md./Howard) paced the attack with 14 kills to go with seven digs and three blocks.

FOR THE FOES
• Caitlin Ambruster led the Blazers with 11 kills.

THE REST OF THE STORY
• McDaniel jumped out to a 12-3 lead behind three Allyson Burgee (Fairfax, Va./Robinson Secondary School) kills. Eight straight points from Hood closed the deficit to 20-18 but the Green Terror tallied five of the final seven points to close out a 25-20 win.
• An Anna Jezerski ace opened up a 10-6 lead in the second set but the Blazers came back to tie the set at 12-all on a Jackie Malitzki kill. After a back-and-forth, a Burgee kill sparked a 5-0 run to turn a 19-17 deficit into a 22-19 lead. Jezerksi put the capper on a 28-26 win with a kill.
• McDaniel jumped out to a 14-8 lead in the third set on a Regan Gefroh ace before methodically extending the advantage before completing the sweep, 25-16.

THE INSIDE STORY
Angalyn Strouse (Spring Grove, Pa./Spring Grove) added nine kills while Maddy Bigley (Pueblo, Colo./Pueblo Centennial) had eight.
