THE SKINNY STORY
Franklin & Marshall jumped out to an early lead in the first set and held off a third-set push by McDaniel for a 3-0 win.

THE LEADERS
• Anna Jezerski (Ellicott City, Md./Howard) led the Green Terror with 11 kills.

FOR THE FOES
• Allison Frankie finished with 11 kills to lead the Diplomats.

THE REST OF THE STORY
• After the Diplomats scored the first three points of the match, the first set featured five ties and remained tight at the beginning. Tatiana Hamilton (Laurel, Md./Reservoir) had back-to-back aces to draw things even. Tied at 8-all, Franklin & Marshall scored 11 of the next 14 points en route to a 25-14 victory.
• The second set saw runs by both teams. The Diplomats went up 5-1 early but McDaniel responded and tied the set at 7-all. F&M retook the lead 19-13, forcing a timeout. Lauren Guyer (York, Pa./York Suburban) went on a four-point serving run to close the deficit to four but Jada West slammed home the final point in a 25-20 victory.
• The third set featured three lead changes. The Diplomats took a 15-7 lead to force a timeout before Regan Gefroh (Fort Collins, Colo./Fort Collins) and Hamilton helped close the gap to 16-14. Franke put down back-to-back kills followed by an ace to extend the lead to 21-15. The Green Terror closed to a 24-23 score but a service error gave the Diplomats a 25-23 victory.

Angalyn Strouse (Spring Grove, Pa./Spring Grove) finished with four kills.
